Glow in the Dark Jellies by Bompas & Parr

Glow in the Dark Jellies by Bompas & Parr

Posted 04 October 2009 | By Julie | Categories: art, food | No Comments

Bompas & Parr creates the world’s first glow-in-the-dark jellies after working in tandem with Dr Andrea Sella from UCL Department of Chemistry. To make the jelly glow in the dark, food-safe quinine is included as an ingredient and blacklights in the service area cause this to fluoresce. The invisible ultraviolet light from the “black lights” is absorbed by the quinine which then re-emits bluish light at the edge of the visible spectrum, making the jellies appear to glow in the dark.

Black Garlic

3 Black Garlic

Black Garlic is an all natural product free of additives, preservatives, colorants or flavorings. The only ingredient used in our fermented black garlic… is garlic. It takes an entire month for the gentle heat of the special roasting process to ferment the garlic heads enough to develop its deep flavor and uniquely black cloves, naturally, over time. The end result is a sweet and savory spin on garlic that loses all of its originally occurring bitterness and pungency when raw, and exchanges it with a smooth flavor profile similar to that of demi glacé, figs, or stone fruits. Aside from the look and smell, the texture of the clove is by far the most surprising aspect – just soft enough to spread on a piece of baguette. Try it in a garlic aioli or with a bit of olive oil and balsamic at the table; we’re sure you’ll find it amazing. If you happen to come up with some great applications, we would love to hear from you – please feel free to toss us an email. *Shelf Life: 9 MONTHS*

Colgate Palmolive in Thailand has started giving out ice creams and candy at annual events like Oral Health Month to remind target consumers, especially kids, to take better care of their teeth after eating sweets. The stick carrying the ice cream and cotton candy carries a hidden message. Once consumers have finished eating, the message printed on the tip of the stick shaped like a toothbrush reveals “Don’t Forget” with the Colgate logo. The Valentines Day Card was designed at Junior Brisbane by executive creative director Steve Minon, creative director Jonathan Drapes, art director Sharon Edmonstron, copywriter Misha McDonald.
