cuil image 1 300x200 CUIL The Next Google? The new search engine Cuil debuted online Sunday, July 27. This new search engine, created by Anna Paterson, Russell Power (both ex-Google employees) and Tom Costello (of IBM), hopes to compete with Google. 33 million dollars have been invested in this ambitious project which, according to Anna Paterson, indexes some 120 billion web pages, three times as many as Google does. However, this new search engine lacks certain features that have been key to Google’s success: maps, image search, and website audience measuring tools. At the moment, Cuil is only available in English, but by the end of the year it is expected to be available in other languages like Spanish and French.
