Tepee

Posted 20 November 2008 | By Julie | Categories: design, health, life | No Comments

tepee 300x268 TepeeLive life simple with this great find. The classic Tepee (2008) is a simple solution for spending time outdoors with minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. This one was crafted for DWR Tools for Living by Dave Ellis, who spent 10 years working in the canvas business before creating his own line of tents and tepees in 1982. We chose his work because of his quality materials and construction that provides proper ventilation, flame resistance and reinforced stress points. What’s also unique about this design is the sewn-in floor liner that allows proper air flow, while ensuring that nothing accidentally leaves or enters the Tepee.

banksyrabbit image 2 300x200 Banksys Village Pet StoreIf you’re not sure what that means, don’t worry, neither did we. And I think it’s safe to assume that Banksy invented it! And that the Banksy buzz is spreading fast. At the exhibit, you can find such run of the mill things as chicken nuggets eating BBQ sauce, a rabbit putting lipstick on, swimming breaded fish, and hot dogs moving under heat lamps. It’s the first time Banksy has used animatronics. One thing that might surprise you is that you can find a live leopard in the store front window. Starting the moment you read this, until October 31st (Halloween), Banksy’s pet store is officially open each and every daily from 10am until midnight. One piece of advice – Bring a video camera as still images don’t do the place justice!

Using a 24-volt sealed lead acid battery, this mower has enough power to mow up to a 1/3-acre lawn on one charge (grass conditions will affect run-time). It can be operated as a mower by attaching a bag to catch the clippings, or it can be operated as an effective mulcher using a mulch plate; both the bag and the mulch plate are included. The rechargeable 24-volt battery conveniently regains up to 60-70 percent of its full power in only 4 hours, and up to 100 percent in 16 hours; the mower turns on quickly with just a switch.

newdepression 300x212 9 Ways Youll Save In The New Depression! We came across this great article from the Village Voice and had to share it.

Don’t worry about the banks, the crash, or the bailout. Sure, they’re awful. And yes, things will get worse. A lot worse. Worse than you ever imagined, probably. But you’ve been in tough spots before. Remember when you lost your job and went on unemployment for a while? This will be like that, only it will last for years. But you’re a New Yorker. You’re tough. Or at least you like to act that way when you’ve been drinking and listening to Nas. You’ll pull through, if you economize. And the new Depression will help by forcibly trimming some of the flab from your personal operating budget. Here are nine ways that will happen:
